Delete your Perky account
This page explains how to delete your account in Perky, the parking hand-off app by Guy Ganot, and what happens to your data when you do.
In the app
- Open Perky and go to Settings (the gear on the "Your car" screen).
- Tap Delete my account at the bottom, read what will happen, and confirm with Delete account.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It is not available while you are acting in an open hand-off or in one under review; finish or cancel it first.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to [email protected] with the phone number of the account. We may ask you to confirm that you control that number before we delete the account for you.
What is erased
- Your phone number, name and sign-in data.
- Your push notification tokens, notification and language settings, and your Terms acceptance record.
- Your plate claims.
- All of your location data, including your hand-off positions (at once, not after the usual retention period).
What is kept
- Hand-off and review records keep their facts but lose the link to you: your user id is emptied and marked as erased, the plate is removed from your hand-offs, and your free text in reviews is removed.
- Credit ledger entries are kept, with no link to you, so the credits of the other drivers and cars stay correct.
- Your car stays with its other members and its credits. If you were the owner, ownership passes to the longest-standing member. If you were the last member, the car account closes and its remaining credits are removed.
- Keyed hashes of your phone number and plate are kept so the welcome credit is paid only once per phone and per plate. They cannot be turned back into the number.
